How long does it take to cure a candle?

Behind the Scenes at Summer Candle Co

Ever wondered what goes into your favourite Summer Candle Co creation?

We’re passionate about the process behind our soy candles and reed diffusers—and we’re inviting you behind the scenes to see how it all comes together.

It All Starts with Quality Ingredients

We only use environmentally sustainable soy wax, natural cotton wicks, and premium fragrance oils. For our reed diffusers, we pair our signature scents with a non-toxic, long-lasting diffuser base for a clean fragrance experience.

Hand-Poured in Small Batches

Each candle is poured by hand in our studio on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
No conveyor belts, no mass production—just careful, intentional craftsmanship.

Our process:

  • We melt the wax and blend in fragrance at just the right temperature in our industrial wax melter.
  • While we wait, candle vessels are cleaned thoroughly, and wicked with premium cotton wicks.
  • Once the wax reaches a certain temperature, we mix fragrance and pour each candle or wax melt with care.
  • Candles are left to cure slowly for optimal scent throw and performance.   The optimal time frame is 2 weeks!

Finishing Touches That Matter

Every candle is trimmed, labelled, and packed by hand.    We use eco-friendly packaging where possible, and we’re always refining our process to be more sustainable.   We haven't yet purchased any plastic packaging (not even the bubble wrap we package your purchases),  as we work hard to reuse and repurpose through other deliveries that we receive.

Our candles and diffusers are tested thoroughly to ensure that we are providing the highest quality experience to all of our customers.

Our ethos is that we don’t just make candles and diffusers—we create moments.  From gifting to self-care rituals, our products are made to be a little spark of joy in your everyday life.

Thank you for supporting small and handmade!
